We are now accepting applications for the Summer semester 2017, which begins May 10, 2017.
The LL.M. in General Law Studies is open to anyone who has a law degree and is qualified to sit for a bar exam or is entitled to practice law. This includes both international and U.S. law school graduates.
Applicants who earned a JD degree in the U.S. should request an official hard copy transcript from their law school Registrar’s Office. The law school transcript should be mailed by the Registrar directly to: Florida Coastal School of Law, Attention Lea Fernandes, 8787 Baypine Road, Jacksonville, Florida 32256.
Applicants who obtained their first degree in law outside of the U.S. should request a course-by-course evaluation of their law school transcript by an agency approved by the California Bar. Please click here for a list of the agencies.
Applicants must submit an application, a curriculum vitae/resume, personal statement, and either: (1) an evaluation of the foreign legal education based upon an official transcript or (2) an official law school transcript for U.S. law school graduates. Additionally, international students should submit proof of English proficiency, submit a TOEFL or IELTS score (unless certain exceptions apply), and scan a copy of their government issued photo identification (passport or driver’s license) and e-mail it Lea Fernandes at LFernandes@fcsl.edu.
Admission to the program is competitive and not automatic. When reviewing applications for admission to the LL.M. program, the following factors will be considered: performance in previous law studies; professional or related experience; professional and personal goals; and English proficiency.
